Today's children usually don't have a chance to know God and Jesus as their loving Creator, because the public schools "preach/teach" against Christianity and marginalize Christian truth so much it ends up being half-truths, falsehoods and deceptions. One cannot "force" people to believe God and Jesus, however by training children with the "Golden Rule" and moral teachings of Jesus, most children, even if they did not become believing Christians, would generally behave well with Christian morals and so the continuation of Constitutional government could go on in an adequate manner.

Teaching the children to obey God's Law and fear the terrible consequences is critical to the eternal happiness of the children as the grow and mature in The Way of God and Jesus Christ.
Thomas Jefferson knew this to be true and so Biblically trained children in biblical morality as the superintendent of schools and later as President, as he believed "a moral people was required for successful U.S.A. constitutional form of government."
