The Heresy of "Once Saved, Always Saved."

Once Saved Always Saved?

The Doctrine of Eternal Security

Holy Scriptures Relevant To "Once Saved, Always Saved" With Commentary

Hebrews 6:4-6  "For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away [apostatized, not once saved always saved], to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt."  Forsaking God and Jesus' sacrifice for us by choosing to continue sinning results in eventual separation from God.

Jesus said we have salvation if we OBEY His Commands such as the Command to "Love One Another!"  Eternal damnation will be their ultimate fate, if they will not repent of the sin of not loving each other.

Hebrews 10:26  "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the Truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."  Continuing to sin results in vacating the New Testament Covenant of Jesus, the Lamb of God's Sacrifice, and then facing God without the spiritual protection of the Son of God results in eternal damnation.  Only Jesus has seen the Face of God His Father The Holy Spirit and will be the ONLY ONE Who Will ever see His Father's Face!  We will continue to see the Face of Jesus who expresses the exact image and likeness of His Father forever in the New Jerusalem and now, as a "glass darkly" or "mirror obscurely" dimly seeing the Face of Jesus (1Cor. 13:12).

John 10:27-30  "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My Hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.  I and the Father are One.”  Failure to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and Jesus will result in eternal damnation if one continues to sin.

If one is chained with a sin, such as the sin of lust and unclean spirits, one needs to overcome the evil one and go from being "a slave of sin" to be a "slave of righteousness."

James 5:19-20 "My brothers, if anyone among you wanders away from the Truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from DEATH and will cover a multitude of sins."  "Love covers. a multitude of sins.  But to wander away from "Jesus The Way" to The Father and eternal life will result in eternal damnation, if there is no repentance from sin.  "Jesus told him, “I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life.  No one can come to the Father except through Me" John 14:6.  To turn away from Jesus and the Holy Spirit's leading is sin.  Jesus may forgive a million sins, however, if one does NOT repent and seek The Face of Jesus, if the sinning continues it will result in unforgiveness and eternal damnation.

In Matthew 24:45-51 Jesus speaks of a person that was the servant of a particular Master, who began to say to himself, “my Master delays in His coming,” and backslides.  Jesus said, “his master” will come back, cut him in two, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites.  Hypocrites will have their part in eternal exile in "outer darkness" (Rev 21:8).  It was the servant's decision to sin and backslide.  The servant could have made the choice to NOT to sin backslide and seek the Face of Jesus by the leading of the Holy Spirit and remain faithful until the resurrection and inherit life.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."

In the parable of the “Ten Virgins,” Jesus teaches five of the virgins will lose their salvation as the lamp oil runs out symbolizing the Holy Spirit and Light of God.  As a result of losing "God is Light" and not receiving Jesus the “Door” of their hearts, eternal life will be closed to them forever (Mt. 25:1-13).

The foolish Christians failed to “buy oil,” an image and type of the Holy Spirit, and by lacking the Holy Spirit all five "virgins" are turned away from Jesus and Heaven forever.  The five "virgins" previously had their salvation, and they had the Holy Spirit in their vessels, in their bodies, but they failed to keep being refilled with the Holy Spirit and being ready for Jesus the Groom.  As a result of failing to be filled with the Holy Spirit they lost their salvation and were blocked, they were locked out of the Wedding Feast and marriage of the Bride of Christ.

Jesus ONLY knows those whom He knew from the foundation of the world.  Only those whose names are “ERASED” from the Lamb’s Book of Life were not known from the foundation of the world by God,  hence God’s infinite statement, “I NEVER knew you!”  At one time their names were listed when they were “born again,” however they chose to turn away and refused to be filled with the Holy Spirit of God resulting in their names being delisted from the Lamb’s Book of Life.  In the Old Testament, the Lamb's Book of Life was called "The Book of Remembrance."  Several Scriptures show names are "blotted out" and erased from the Book of Life.

Malachi 3:16–18 says, “Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His Name. ‘They will be Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.  So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.’”

To deny Jesus is Lord before Men results in Jesus erasing their names from the “Lamb’s Book of Life” if they had been previously written there.

God does not remember the sins of those who have repented of their sins.

Isaiah 43:25 "I, I Am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins."  Just as God forgets sins we have repented of, God will forget those who have backslid and turned away to walk in spiritual darkness if they will not repent and return to Him.

Hebrews 10:17 "Then He says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds."

Psalm 103:11-12 "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us."

Hebrews 8:12 "And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins."

Micah 7:19 "Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!"  If we will repent of our sins, God will "forget" our sins forever.

Hebrews 10:16-17 "This is the covenant that I will make with them: after those days, declares the Lord: I will put My Laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” then He adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

Isaiah 44:22 "I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to Me, for I have redeemed you."  Just as the prodigal son returned to his father, the Father has paid the price in His Son on the Cross for backsliders to return to Him and regain their salvation and have their names written in the Book of Life.

God blotted out repented sins in the Old Testament.  Similarly, God blots out His remembrance of our sins in the New Testament.

Romans 4:7 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered."

Romans 4:8 "Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of sin."

Salvation depends upon making the right choice daily to continually follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  Deciding to turn away from the leading of the Holy Spirit is the wrong decision and if it continues will result in eternal damnation.  It is NOT the false doctrine of "once saved, always saved."  One must make the godly choice to continue daily to always follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 143:10 "Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your Good Spirit lead me on level ground.  If we fail to become "teachable" we will fall away from the Spirit of Truth and turn to lies and be damned forever.  If we fail to pray to lead us on level ground we are in danger of falling away from God.

Romans 8:14 "For all who are being Led by the Holy Spirit of God, these are sons of God."  Continuous obedience to following the leading of the Holy Spirit is required to inherit eternal life.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."  It is not the choice of once following the Holy Spirit and then permanently turning away from the leading of the Holy Spirit and then expecting eternal salvation to be the result.  Their one-time salvation will be lost as they fall to perdition.  It is not "once saved, always saved."  It is once saved and then if they do not repent then their fall to perdition is a one-way trip.

Galatians 5:18 "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law."  Failure to make the continual choice to be led by the Holy Spirit results in the "wages of sin" which is spiritual death (Romans 6:23).

2Peter 2:20-22 "For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.  For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.

What the true proverb says has happened to them:  “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”  "For it would have been better for them never to have known The Way of righteousness than after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them."  It is not "once saved, always saved" by doing the Will of God and Jesus at least once, but the Scripture warns failure to continue to do His Will, will result in falling away from Him, apostasy, and eternal damnation.

1Timothy 4:1  "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons."  Demas departed from the faith, loving the seducing spirits of the world, and then abandoned Apostle Paul who had desperate needs being in chains.  Demas, although he was "once saved," Demas was not always saved and he chose to apostatize, to fall away, to depart from the faith, and from the presence of the Holy Spirit (2Tim 4:10).

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."  One must continue to believe to be saved, and not turn away in the sin of unbelief and lose one's salvation because of unbelief.

1Corinthians 9:27  "But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified."  Salvation is dependent upon disciplining our body and having self-control or we will be disqualified and lose our salvation.  It is not the false doctrine of "once saved, always saved."  Jesus warns those who followed Him and then turn back to the world and sin are NOT worthy of Him and will lose their salvation if they fail to repent of their sin of turning to their own lusts and desires.

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and do many mighty works in Your Name?’  And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’ They had salvation, Holy Spirit gifts that are irrevocable, but chose to apostatize and fall away from Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

In Revelation, Jesus threatens to "Blot out their name from the Book of Life" (Revelation 3:5; 20:12; Malachi 3:16) and "vomit them out of His Mouth."  To have one's name erased from the Book of Life results in eternal separation from Jesus. "Whoever has sinned against Me, I shall wipe him out of My book" [of life] Exodus 32:33.  But if we prove faithful, we will remain in the "Book of Life" Rev 20:12.  The Bible, in many books, teaches against the heresy of "once saved, always, saved."  One must abstain from sin and practice holiness for God is Holy."  To be "vomited" out of the Mouth of Jesus is tantamount to losing one's eternal salvation (Rev 3:16).  The Laodicean Christians were a fearful example of being once saved and falling away from salvation.

1Peter 1:14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, 15 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

Revelation 2:1-29  “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:  ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lamp-stands.  “‘I know your works, your toil, and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.  I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my Name's sake, and you have not grown weary.  But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.  Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first.  If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent."  "God is Light" and to lose the light of God means apostasy from His presence and being chained by lusts and deceiving spirits through the Gates of Hell into the spiritual darkness of the Kingdom of Darkness.  Jesus clearly warns churches then and today, although they are currently in His presence having the hope of eternal salvation, that position can be abandoned and the churches fall into judgment and spiritual darkness.

John 15:6 "If anyone does not abide in Me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned."  Jesus warns Christians that are not faithful to abide in Jesus and bear the fruit of the Spirit, will result in being cut off from Jesus just as the branches of ancient Israel were cut off.  God "LOVES MERCY," Jesus says people can regain their salvation if they repent.

Romans 11:19 "You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 That is correct:  They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith.  Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.  21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly not spare you either.  22 Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness.  Otherwise, you also will be cut off."  As Israel was damned by God under Moses because of their sin of unbelief, similarly Christians who sin in unbelief will be also cut off.  "Once Saved, Always Saved" is Scripturally a heresy, a false doctrine.  The "branches" were once part of the "Vine" of Jesus and had salvation and life in Jesus, but though they were saved, they fell away from the Living God and lost their salvation.  Those cut off were no longer the "chosen people."  Only those that remain part of Jesus are the "chosen people" today.

Galatians 5:4 "You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace."  Christians who practice the Law instead of believing in Jesus and being led by the Holy Spirit, have lost their salvation and fallen away from the grace of God and Jesus.  Apostle Paul is addressing Christians who were born again, grafted into Jesus the Vine and now they have been cut off from God, and their names erased from the Book of Life, unless they repent and return to face Jesus Christ.

Seeing the Face of Jesus is key to inheriting eternal life.  1Cor 13:12 seeing the Face is a Command and not an optional lifestyle.

John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever ["has ears to hear"] hears My Word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life.  He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."  If one "hears" the Holy Spirit and does His Will has eternal life.  If Christians stop hearing the Holy Spirit they will apostatize and fall away from the Face of Jesus and lose their salvation (1Cor 13:12).

1John 5:13 "I write these things to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life."  Likewise, if Christians stop believing in the Name of Jesus they may fall away from God's grace and lose their salvation.

2Peter 1:10 "Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall."  Peter gives a Warning, the failure to practice these qualities will result in falling away from their salvation in Jesus.  The heresy of "once saved, always saved" fails to be true because of this warning to avoid falling away from God by Apostle Peter.

Galatians 5:19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.  I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.  Christians who practice drunkenness are sinning, as the "wages of sin is death."  Death will result if Christians gradually leave the presence of Jesus and apostasies if they do NOT repent.

Mark 13:13 "And you will be hated by all for My Name's sake.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved."  Jesus warns those who do not endure the persecutions and lose self-control, will apostatize and lose their salvation.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."  Christians must learn to endure persecution or they will lose everything.

Colossians 1:21-23 "And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister." "If, if, if, if" you are faithful, stable, and steadfast results in eternal salvation if one endures.  It is not the heresy of "once saved, always saved."  It is conditional "if, if, if, if you remain faithful until the end then that results in salvation.  If you make the choice to remain faithful until the end then it will result in eternal life.

Matthew 7:21  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven."  Salvation is for those who continue to do the Will of The Father of Jesus that have salvation.  Those who fail to do His Will will NOT have salvation and will fall from His presence.  Salvation is dependent upon Christian lifestyles.  It is not once "saved," always saved.  Behavior and works, are important to continue to be saved and stay in His presence.  Doing the works God and Jesus prepared at the foundation of the world that Christians are commanded to do.

Matthew 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end will be saved."  Christians must endure to the end to have salvation.  Those who do NOT endure to the end will NOT have eternal salvation.  Clearly the heresy of "once saved, always saved" is NOT a doctrine of the Holy Bible.  There is always the possibility of choosing to fall away from the presence of God and Jesus.

Ephesians 1:13-14  "In Him you also, when you heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.  Christians can continue to sin by "quenching the Spirit" and eventually break "the seal of the Holy Spirit." "Do not extinguish [quench] the Spirit" 1Th 5:19-20.  Christians are able to extinguish the Holy Spirit's presence in their life if they choose to do so.  The Greek word shows the complete loss of the Holy Spirit will result if one continues to sin and have sinful contempt for prophecies.

1Corinthians 10:12 "Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands, take heed lest he falls."  Scripture has written falling away from the salvation of Jesus will result if Christians continue to sin.  There is always a chance of falling to perdition if we are not careful to remain in the presence of God and Jesus every day.

Romans 11:19-22 "Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true.  They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you too will be cut off."

Titus 3:5  "He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit."  We are to become "slaves of righteousness" instead of being "slaves of sin which will drag Christians away from the presence of God and Jesus resulting in falling away to eternal darkness.

What Does the Bible Say About Slave To Sin?

John 8:34  "Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin."  If Christians commit sin, and if there is no repentance, they become slaves of sin and keep sinning eventually losing their salvation.

Galatians 5:1 "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery."  Christians are made free by Jesus to practice righteousness.  They are NOT free to practice sinning which will eventually result in eternal damnation when there is no repentance.

Romans 6:6  "We know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin."  We can be either slaves to sin or slaves of righteousness and inherit eternal life if we endure.

2Peter 2:19 "They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption.  For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved."  Christians do not have to be "overcome" by sin.  Jesus always provides "a way of escape" from the sin of the fowler and the nets of darkness.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Walk in your freedom and liberty in Jesus and if you endure you will inherit eternal life.

Romans 6:16 "Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?"  Slaves of sin or slaves of righteousness?  One's free will choice leads to eternal separation from God and Jesus, the right choice leads to salvation and eternal life with Jesus.

Romans 6:22 "But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end result eternal life."

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and money."  Christians sometimes sin with their money instead of serving God and Jesus with their money.  As Jesus said, He expects Christians to be faithful stewards and invest their money for His Kingdom on Earth and spreading the Gospel saving as many lives as possible.

John 8:36 "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."  Jesus is willing to forgive you and set you free from sin, but you must make the free will decision to stop sinning and serve Jesus with righteousness instead.

Romans 6:18 "And, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness."  Jesus will help Christians to be free from the slavery of sin, but the free will choice must be made to turn from sin to be in the presence of God and look at the Face of Jesus (1Cor 13:12).

1John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  He cleans us of all unrighteousness so we may become slaves of righteousness.  "Do NOT neglect working out your salvation in fear and trembling."

Romans 8:2 "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death."  Jesus warns those that practice lawlessness will be cast into eternal darkness forever. (Mt 7:21-23).

Romans 6:20 "For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness."  Notice the choice of sinning or practicing righteousness.

Romans 6:15 "What then?  Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace?  By no means!"  Jesus does not condone sinning by Christians.

Romans 6:4 "We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."  Christians' relationship to Jesus depends upon becoming slaves of righteousness.

John 8:31-36 "So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, “If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.”  They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone.  How is it that you say, ‘You will become free?’”  Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.  The slave does not remain in the house forever, but the son remains forever."  Although sinning Christians are in the "house" and body of Christ, and if they continue to be slaves of sin, they will be cast out into the outer darkness.  Saved once, does not necessarily mean always saved.  Jesus warns those Christians who are slaves to sin will be eventually cast out of His presence into "outer darkness."

Romans 6:19 "I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations.  For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification."

James 1:15 "Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death."  To continue to sin results in the Second Death.

1Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man.  God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."  Christians are commanded to take "The Way of Escape" the exercise of righteousness.  Look to the Face of Jesus and He will show you the Way of Escape.

James 4:17 "So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin."

1Corinthians 6:19-20 "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?  You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.  So glorify God in your body."  Exercise righteousness in your members and avoid sinning.

Romans 6:15-23 "What then?  Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace?  By no means!  Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?  But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.  I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations.  For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification."

I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."  God does NOT make empty threats.  This WARNING for those that do such sins is to notify them they will be damned in outer darkness forever.

Romans 6:14 "For sin will not have dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace."

Galatians 4:7 "So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God."

Romans 8:15 "For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”"

Romans 6:1 "What shall we say then?  Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?"  Repeated WARNINGS to stop continually sinning or eternal damnation will eventually result.

2Corinthians 5:21 "For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."

Ephesians 2:2 "In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience."

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him."

Proverbs 5:22 "The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin."  Failure to call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus to be saved will result in the bondage of sin and it will result in eternal suffering.

Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Genesis 4:7 "If you do well, will you not be accepted?  And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door.  Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”  Sin desires you but you must turn to God and become slaves of righteousness.

1John 3:6 "No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him."

Romans 5:1-21 "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Through Him, we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."  This is the main reason Christians suffer, so Jesus may develop godly character in each believer so His light and love may pour through us today and forever.

Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out."  God warns us to repent so our sins may be erased.

Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?"

1John 3:5 "You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in Him, there is no sin."

Romans 7:25 "Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh, I serve the law of sin."

Romans 6:12 "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions."  Christians must not let sin have a place in their members.

Psalm 119:133 "Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me."

1Chronicles 16:11 "Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually!"

John 3:3 "Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”  Inviting Jesus and His Holy Spirit into your heart is key to having the way of seeing the Face of Jesus and inheriting eternal life.

Philippians 2:12 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

Revelation 3:5 "The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never BLOT his name out of the Book of Life.  I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels."  It is a qualification that must be achieved to avoid having one's name erased from the Book of Life and losing one's salvation.  Christians must conquer sin through Jesus Christ in order to avoid falling away from the Living God forever.

Luke 8:13 "And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away."  Christians must circumcise their hearts, and plow it up so the "seed" of Christ may grow and flourish so they may inherit eternal life.

Romans 8:38-39 "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Continuing to sin will separate Christians from God.  Those that continue to sin do NOT have the Father and salvation."

1John 3:8 "The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of the devil: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother."  Continuing to sin looses one "grip" upon the presence of Jesus and will cause Christians to fall away from the presence of Jesus and they will lose their salvation.

Matthew 10:22 "And you will be hated by all for My Name's sake.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved."  Christians must endure the sinful "pressing" from all sides in order to pass the test and inherit eternal life.

Ezekiel 18:24 "But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die."  When a righteous person turns away from practicing righteousness and then does wickedness continually he will suffer the "Second Death."

Hebrews 10:26-31 "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.  Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.  How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?  For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.”  And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” ...  God's Final Judgment will be ruin, destruction, and the Second Death will result for America's Christians, if Christian leaders do not repent of their heresy of a coming Millennium which cannot happen as they oppose the Kingdom of God and Jesus today on Earth, opposing a legal Christian nation and opposing Christian U.S. Laws.  The children are losing their minds, souls, and salvation in the public schools every day due to the school curriculum's antichrist brainwashing.

Hebrews 10:38-39 "But My righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls."  Shrink back, fall away from the Face of Jesus and you will be destroyed forever, if there is no repentance of the sins taking you away from His presence.

Revelation 2:10 "Do not fear what you are about to suffer.  Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation.  Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life."  Without continuing to be steadfastly faithful and righteous until death, there will be no crown of eternal life and salvation.

Romans 8:12-13 "So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.  For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."  If you flee temptation, fleshly lusts, and turn away from seducing spirits, you will live forever.

Revelation 22:19 "And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."  To take away from the Word of God can result in being cut off from Jesus the Life, and lose their place in New Jerusalem.

Hebrews 3:14 "For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end."  Salvation is conditional, return to your "first love" where you had full confidence in the salvation of Jesus Christ.

Luke 9:62 "Jesus said to him, 'No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.'”  Remember Lot's wife who looked back and was killed.  To look back to one's "old man" sins will result in losing one's salvation.

Mark 16:16 "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."  A choice between believing and obeying Jesus and not believing and falling away from Him which will result in losing one's salvation.

John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."  To continue to follow Jesus results in eternal life.  To permanently turn away from following Jesus results in eternal damnation.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  God promises eternal death for continuing to practice sin.  God promises eternal life for those that repent of their sinning and follow His Son and Holy Spirit into eternity.

1John 3:6 "No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him."  If Christians want to abide in Him, Christians must stop sinning or they will lose sight of Him as they fall away into spiritual darkness.

Hebrews 13:5 "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  The love of money can damn one's soul.  One must repent and seek the Face of Jesus in order to have eternal life.  The love of the luxuries money can buy is idolatry.  In the parable of the Pearl of Great Price, Jesus teaches EVERYTHING is required to inherit eternal life.

John 15:1-6 “I am the true Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.  Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the Vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  I am the Vine; you are the branches.  Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."  If Christians fail to continue to invite Jesus and the Holy Spirit into their hearts, by default spiritual darkness comes into their heart.  Invite the Holy Spirit into your heart everyday to receive eternal life.

2Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith.  Test yourselves.  Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—Unless indeed you fail to pass the test!"  Test yourselves, test the spirits, in order to discern Jesus and the Holy Spirit dwells in you.

Ephesians 1:13 "In Him you also, when you heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit."  The "seal" of the Holy Spirit can be broken when someone commits the unpardonable sin and blasphemes the Holy Spirit.  It is Not "once saved, always saved."  Many Scriptures have written though some Christians were once saved, Christians may permanently fall from the presence of Jesus.

1Corinthians 15:2 "And by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain."  If Christians fail to hold fast to the WORD, and believed they could continue to go on sinning they will lose their salvation and suffer the second death.

John 3:36 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."  Failure to OBEY the Son of God will result in eternal damnation and the lake of fire.

2Peter 3:17 "You therefore beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability."  Poor and evil associations, and sinful friends, will result in losing one's spiritual stability and potentially lose one's salvation if Christians continue to sin.

2Timothy 2:12 "If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us."  The Scripture warns Jesus will deny Christians access to His Father and those Christians will lose eternal salvation if Christians deny Him before others.

Romans 11:22 "Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you too will be cut off."  This is a clear warning that if Christians fail to continue in His Kindness to seek the Face of Jesus, or the consequences will be severe and many will fall to perdition forever.  Severe Judgment will fall upon those who chose to turn away from His presence.

Romans 11:20-23 "That is true. Otherwise, you too will be cut off.  And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again."  Consider the Prophet Judge Samson who chose to sin so the Holy Spirit left him (Judges 16:20).  At his end Samson Called Upon the Name of The LORD Jehovah and he was saved while killing a stadium full of enemies of Israel.  As the prodigal son, Samson had lost his salvation and then was reinstated at his end and was granted his salvation.

1John 2:15 "Do not love the world or anything in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world."…He who does not love does not have eternal life.  Jesus warned that Christians could NOT love Him and love the world and have salvation.  It is a violation of the first commandment of the Ten Commandments having the seducing spirits of the world in addition to supposedly worshipping the Holy Spirit of God as the Greatest Commandment requires.

James 2:14-17 "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?  Can that faith save him?  If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."  If Christians' faith is dead they do not have salvation and are NOT pleasing to God.  If Christians choose to deceive themselves and do not accomplish the works God prepared from the foundation of the world, there will be no salvation for them.

1John 5:16-17 "If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death.  There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.  All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death."  If Christians choose to be restored to the presence of Jesus they will have eternal life.  If Christians do NOT choose to be restored they will inherit the wrath of God.

Hebrews 3:12-14  "Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.  But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.  For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end."  Free-will choice to NOT have an unbelieving heart is required for salvation and to enter into the presence of Jesus and remain there forever.  We must hold our original confidence in Him firm to the end when Christians will inherit eternal salvation.  Clearly, the Word of God overwhelmingly teaches against the false doctrine of "once saved, always saved."  Christians must daily work to remain in the presence of Jesus Christ so to be saved until we inherit eternal life.

Romans 2:6-8."He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury."  The Scripture shows a choice must be made.  Either choose well-doing, or choose self-seeking and choose to NOT obey the Truth, but become slaves of sin and unrighteousness.  The choice must be made either to be a slave of sin or become a slave of righteousness as Apostle Paul considered himself a bondservant or slave of Jesus so must we also.

John 6:39 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given Me, but raise it up on the last day."  Jesus promises to raise up Christians on the "Last Day" to inherit eternal life with Him as the "Bride of Christ."

Matthew 25:31-46 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. Before Him will be gathered all the nations, and He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.  And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on his left.  Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed Me." ...  Will the King of Kings find you feeding the needy?  For those who are capable of doing it, it is necessary for inheriting eternal life.  Choosing to NOT take care of the poor and needy when it could have been done, will result in being cast into the "Lake of Fire."

1Timothy 1:19 "Holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made a shipwreck of their faith."  Making a free-will decision to turn from being led by faith and rejecting a good conscience will result in falling away from Jesus and eventually losing one's salvation.

Galatians 5:1 "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery."  Submitting to sinning will result in becoming a slave of sin and end in eternal suffering.  It is a choice to return again to the slavery of the evil one.  It is NOT "Once Saved, Always Saved."  Yielding to temptation becomes sin and falling away from the Living God.

1John 3:6-9  "No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him.  Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.  No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in Him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God."  Because Judas Iscariot practiced being a thief stealing from the apostles' money bag, so Jesus called him a devil.  Judas fell from his appointment in the office of an apostle.  Jesus said it would have been better if Judas had never been born.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."

Hebrews 7:25 "Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."  If Christians have a heart and mind to repent of sin, Jesus will forgive and make intercession for them to His Father.

1John 2:24 "Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you.  If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father."  You have a choice of what you believe and allow into your heart.  Make the right choice and live, make the wrong choice and suffer the Second Death forever.

Philippians 2:12-13 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."  Steadfast faithfulness in obedience is required to continue onto receiving eternal salvation at the resurrection.  It is every Christian's responsibility to work out one's salvation in fear and trembling that God is Holy and there is a real chance of falling away into spiritual darkness.

Galatians 5:24 "And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."  "We are crucified with Christ."  Jesus will help you crucify passions and evil desires.

1Timothy 4:16  "Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers."  Christians must persist in Holiness and be faithful to sound doctrine is required for those who have been given more.

1Corinthians 5:5 "You are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord."  Sometimes bad health will help people to decide to repent of sin and save their souls.

Rom 6:6 "We know that our old self was [figuratively] crucified with Christ, in order that the body of sin [i.e., our whole life of sin] might be destroyed [i.e., become powerless to control our actions and thoughts], so that we should not be enslaved to the practice of sin any longer."  God makes the power of the Gospel and Holy Spirit available to Christians who have prayed and received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Gal 2:19 "For through the law I died to the law, in order that I might live to God.  I have been crucified with Christ."

Gal 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me."  Letting the supernatural power of deciding to crucify lusts and evil passion with the help of Jesus Christ is important for inheriting eternal life.

Psalm 119:151-165 "But you are near, O Lord, and all Your commandments are true.  Long have I known from your testimonies that you have founded them forever.  Look on my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget your law.  Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise!  Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes." ...  God promises to HELP you in Jesus.  Invite Jesus into your heart.

Romans 8:9 "You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.  Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him."

1Peter 4:17-18 "For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?  And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

Romans 10:9-10 "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved."

Jude 1:24-25 "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."

Isaiah 64:6 "We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away."  If we continue to sin, our sins will take us away from the presence of God.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."

1Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs."  The love of money is idolatry.  Craving, and hungering for money will lure people away from the presence of God and Jesus resulting in eternal damnation.

Romans 5:1-6:23 "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

2Peter 2:1 "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction."  To teach heresies, false doctrines, denying Jesus the Master will bring swift destruction and eternal damnation.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."

Galatians 5:1-4 "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.  Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.  I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.  You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law;  you have fallen away from grace."  Those that circumcise themselves so to be saved will be damned and they will fall away from the salvation they may of once had.  It is not "once saved, always saved."

Hebrews 6:4-8 "For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.  For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned."  Eternal suffering in the Lake of Fire will result for those that refuse to remove thorns and thistles so to be saved.

1John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  If we confess and forsake our sins, seeking the Face of Jesus, we will have eternal life.

1John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin."  If we walk in His Light, we have fellowship with Him and His blood cleanses us from all sin.  It is not "once saved, always saved."  We must walk in His Light to be saved.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."  This verse indicates committing ongoing unrepentant sin will result in eternal damnation and separation from God and Jesus.

Galatians 5:19-26 "Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.  I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law."  Ongoing sanctification resulting in growing holiness is necessary to inherit eternal life.  To fantasize about sinning, or do these actual sins results in eternal damnation and eternal separation from God and Jesus.

Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out."  Notice the words "turn again," meaning they may of once had salvation but fell away to sin.

Luke 13:3 "No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."  Jesus warns all to repent of committing sin.

1John 3:4 "Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness."

A Call to Persevere in Hebrews 10:25 "Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.  26 If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume all adversaries."  The "Unpardonable Sin" is to go on and continue sinning and entering spiritual darkness forever.

Repent of sins while you still can hear His Voice.  Amen

The scripture that is most commonly quoted to support this doctrine is John 10:28: “They shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”  On the surface this can seem like it is true that once saved, we are always saved.

Indeed, no one can snatch them out of Jesus’ hand, but they can put themselves outside of Jesus’ hand.  In chapter John 15:4 Jesus exhorts His disciples, “Abide in Me, and I in you.”  And furthermore, in John 15:6 He says, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”

Salvation is not unconditional, it is conditional upon believing in Lord Jesus Christ not being slaves of sin, but becoming slaves of righteousness.

Every promise of salvation in the scripture has a condition.  If we fulfill the conditions the promises are ours.  For example, we read in Colossians 1:21-23: “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight if indeed you continue in the faith …”  Do you see the condition?  “If indeed you continue in the faith.”  In 1Timothy 1:19 Paul refers to some, who by rejecting a good conscience, had made a shipwreck of their faith—clearly teaching NOT once saved, is always being saved.

Adam and Eve were once and always saved in the Garden of Eden, then they chose to sin.  God had promised they would die the day they had sinned.  They had chosen to sin and after dying spiritually that tragic day they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil they then had to be "born-again" or born from above to have their relationship with God and Jesus restored.  Likewise when Christians choose to sin the eventual wages of sinning are death (Romans 6:23).   When we go to work and expect to get paid for that work, we are earning our wages.  In the same way, we are going to be paid at the end of the day for our sin.  The payment for sinning is death."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  To continue to sin is eternal death, but if we accept the gift of life in Jesus we will have salvation.

James 4:17 "So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin."

1John 1:8 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

Ezekiel 18:4 "Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die." Jesus owns everyone and everything and He will damn those who continue to sin.

Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all have sinned."

Revelation 21:8 "But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

James 1:15 "Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death."

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear."

Genesis 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

1John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Matthew 25:46 "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Matthew 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.  Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

2Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." Romans 5:8 "But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and he has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

1John 3:4 "Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness."  Those that did miracles in His Name lost their salvation because they practiced lawlessness (Mt 7:23).

I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."

1Corinthians 15:51 "Behold! I tell you a mystery.  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed."

Romans 10:9 "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 6:2 "By no means!  How can we who died to sin still live in it?"  To live in sin instead of being in Christ Jesus will result in eternal death.

Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

1John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin."

Romans 8:5 "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit."

Romans 6:16 "Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?"  Righteousness is a choice.  Make the choice for righteousness and live.

Romans 6:1-23 "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his." ...

Acts 2:38 "And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."  Every Christian must make the choice to serve God and not serve other gods and the flesh.

Genesis 3:4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die."  Even could have chosen to believe God and not spiritually die and physically die, but she chose to sin instead.

Revelation 21:2 "And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."  One must follow through to be prepared to be part of the Bride of Christ.

Revelation 20:12 "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done."

1John 3:8 "Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil."  If a Christian is practicing sin, such as pornography, gluttony or others is of the devil.  Jesus is willing to save them if they call upon Him to be saved.

1John 1:10 "If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."  If we deceive ourselves into believing we are Not sinning when in fact we are "sinning in unbelief" we are in danger of falling away from His presence to eternal damnation.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."

1Peter 4:8 "Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins."  "God is Love."  Without loving by remaining in the presence of the God of Love will result in apostatizing, and falling away from His presence resulting in eternal damnation if there is no repentance of Christians.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."

1Peter 2:11 "Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul."  Abstain from carnal passions of the flesh which wage war against your spirit and soul!  In every war there are deaths, and casualties, continuing to sin will result in your death if you don't stop sinning when passion begins its onslaught to captivate and control Christians, you will fall away from Jesus.

Hebrews 10:24-25 "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."  Failing to love each other and failing to exhort Christians to do good works including gathering at church is sin and to continue to sin will result in many falling away from the presence resulting in lower church attendance and may result in eternal damnation.  It is NOT "once saved, always saved."  It is once saved then falling away from the presence of Jesus resulting in eternal suffering.

Hebrews 9:22 "Indeed, under the Law [of God and Moses] almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins."  Scripture warns there is no Lamb of God blood sacrifice to protect Christians who choose to continue to sin."

Hebrews 3:12-13 "Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.  But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."  Sin is deceitful and the heresy of "Once Saved, Always Saved" is a deceitful lie as from the fall of Adam and Eve to Revelation's Laodiceans being "vomited" out of the mouth of Jesus and their names blotted out of the "Lamb's Book of Life" clearly has written Christians have the choice to stop sinning or fall from the presence of Jesus forever.

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."  Unedifying complaining is sinning and will result in judgment falling from the presence of the Lord and losing one's salvation.  Do not make carnal conversation.

Ephesians 2:2 "In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience."  Jesus is willing to save those who have the spirit of disobedience, but there must be true repentance.

Ephesians 2:1 "And you were dead in the trespasses and sins."  To be sinning results in spiritual death and separation from God.

Demas loved the world and abandoned Apostle Paul because of his sin.  Jesus said, "You cannot love the world and God."  Demas abandoned God's Love and chose the seducing affections of the world.  Demas lost his salvation.  2Timothy 4:10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica."  Demas had left God's Love to help Paul and instead chose to lust after the world's pleasures.

Hebrews 6:4-6 “For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.”

Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

2Peter 2:20-22 “If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: ‘A dog returns to its vomit,’ and, ‘A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.’”

In Hebrews 3:12-14 we are warned: “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today’, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.”  Do you see the condition again?  “If we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.”

We know that if we sin we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.  Yes, if we are genuinely sorry and repentant there is an abundance of forgiveness in Jesus.  But the danger is that by repeatedly yielding to the same temptation a hardening sets in.  We are not as sorry as when we first fell into this sin, become more and more hardened, and finally end up with “an evil heart of unbelief” and lose our confidence.  We depart from the living God.  We put ourselves outside of His hand.

We don't need to fall from the presence of the Holy Spirit by giving into temptation.

So how can we prevent such a hardening from taking place, when our experience is that we repeatedly fall into temptation?   The good news of the gospel is that we don’t need to repeatedly fall into temptation.  “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:15-16.  It is clear from these verses that our time of need is when we are being tempted.

Jesus overcame and now He can help us to overcome.  “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted” Hebrews 2:18.

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin” 1Peter 4:1.

So let us not allow ourselves to be lulled into a false sense of security that we are once saved, always saved, and put our salvation in jeopardy, but rather do as Paul exhorts in Philippians 2:12: “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”  Let us make our calling and election sure (2Peter 1:10)!  Failing to do what is necessary to make our calling and election sure will result in falling away, apostatizing from grace and the heavenly places Jesus helps believers to attain.
