Speaking In Tongues Are God's Gift For Today's Christians!
The one in the same Holy Spirit gives several types/gifts of the Spirit for the common good of the Body of Christ.
Tongues sometimes may seem an affront to human understanding, but that is consistent with Jesus saying they were more blessed by faith who had not seen His earthly ministry.
In 1Cor 12:7 Paul writes about different manifestations of the same Holy Spirit that work to profit the Body of Christ... When God manifests Himself, He shows Himself, He goes public with signs and wonders... God shows Himself through different people as He Wills.
1Cor 13 "God's Love Chapter" is between God's Charisma manifestation of His gift of His Holy Spirit in Chapters 12 and 14.
1Cor 14:1 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

1Cor 14:6 context is coming to you speaking in a known language for your understanding, but speaking in unknown tongues is intended for personal speaking in an unknown prayer language speaking to God for no man understands...

The gift of uninterpreted tongues is for personal prayer and NOT intended for evangelism. The Acts 2 and Acts 10 which was "the same" experience was prophesying in earthly languages for public praises and prophesying to God... Acts 10 context implies they ALL received the gift of tongues for praying to God, "speaking mysteries that no man understands also."
The gift of tongues in church is to be interpreted by the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the general assembly and to convict the unbelievers of sin...

John MacArthur dishonors the Holy Spirit and is leading people astray by making an unholy "jihad" war on the Holy Spirit Charisma "signs and wonders gifts."
John MacArthur apparently relies upon "PROVIDENCE" and does not listen to the Voice of Jesus as Moses spoke "face to face" to God. Exodus 33:11a "Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend." "Jesus is the same forever" and will speak to you as "a man speaks to his friend."
Holy Spirit Gifts Cessationist John MacArthur called the Charismatic movement a "long war on truth." However the Scripture reveals the Holy Spirit's Charisma Truth including the gift manifestation of "signs and wonders" will continue until the "Last Trumpet" (1Co 15:52) when we be all changed and then will see the "perfect" "face to face" instead seeing Jesus through a "glass darkly" (1Cor 13:12).

According to the blasphemer Pastor John MacArthur who calls the Holy Spirit Charismatic gifts of the devil, the closing of Scriptural Canon is the "PERFECT" and the partial canon, the O.T. and N.T. books written before the Apocalypse would be DONE AWAY WITH (e.g. any lies will do when one does not the truth)! (1Cor 13:12 defines the "PERFECT" as JESUS in eternity whom we will then see PERFECTLY and not through a dull "Mirror Dimly" or "Glass Darkly" as we spiritually see Him today.)
Cessationists mock Charismatic Continuationists as Holy Spirit gifts are so commonplace among those who are willing to "seek the greater gifts" (1Cor 12:31). God ordained Offices of Apostle such as Apostle Barnabas (Acts 14:14), are few in number compared to those who have the apostolic gifts. God ordained Offices of Prophets are few compared to those who have the prophet's gift. Though many have charisma gifts, they do not all attain to a God ordained office over the church. John MacArthur condemns those who have visions and extra biblical revelation. However in Acts 2 God confirms visions and dreams from God will continue to be part of the New Testament.

Today's cessationists sin and "quench the Holy Spirit" (1Th 5:19 "Do not quench the Spirit"), and forbid disciples to listen to the Holy Spirit's revelatory spiritual Voice of God their Father and forbid believing in God's revelatory visions and dreams are to be acted upon faithfully, which results in the sin of unbelief, causing many to stumble and lose faith and hope in God.
Christians are suppose to be in Heavenly Places with Christ (Eph 2:6). Christians are suppose to be in the presence of Jesus in Heaven (Rev 3:12), listening to His Voice in this life (John 10:27) and doing His Will of Our Heavenly Father in this life and not just in eternity (Mtt 6:10; Luke 22:42)…
Luke 8:11 "The seed is the Word of God." Christ's seed (gk sperma) must remain in Christians to inherit eternal life (1John 3:9). In Mtt 7:21-23 John MacArthur is spiritually blinded and does not "rightly divide the Word" when it comes to having a relationship with the "substance" of our Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit Charisma in the "sign gifts." MacArthur fails to discern it is the practice of the sin of lawlessness and not the miracles of the Holy Spirit that are the reason for banishment. Just as angels learn to behave spiritually, so disciples must learn to behave spiritually in concert with the Holy Spirit so His Charisma sign gifts will manifest themselves as the Father wishes.
Obeying God's Law and not the sin lawlessness of disobeying God's Law is the context and substance of Mtt 7:20-23. The righteous acts of obeying the Holy Spirit Charisma and casting out demons is not condemned as sin, but it is the lawless hearts that are condemned as sin (Mtt 7:23).
WWJD? Jesus would legalize His Name of Jesus (Col 3:17 "Do All in the Name of Jesus") and command Christians to die as martyrs to speak, teach and pray in the Name of Jesus as the early disciples believed was God's Command (Acts 4:10-20).

Hebrews 2:3-5 CONTEXT IS THE "WORLD TO COME" and is followed by verse v5 which shows the life to come is the promised future life in eternity, in the New Earth to come, is the end of the limited period of time. The time period of the Charisma gifts to minister is in this life. "The gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE" (Romans 11:29). God made gifts of tongues, apostles and prophets and additional Charisma gifts for this existence before "THE WORLD TO COME." God has made His decision IRREVOCABLE. Romans 11:29 "for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."

1Cor 12:30 does NOT de-emphasize the importance of tongues, parsing the verse simply acknowledges the fact that not all Christians have gifts of healings, or tongues and their interpretation and the NEXT VERSE in context COMMANDS Christians to desire and seek these "GREATER GIFTS" that Jesus is willing to give, if we ask ACCORDING TO THE FATHER'S WILL. 1Cor 12:30 means there is "room for improvement" and expects the Church to comply with God's REQUEST of desiring and seeking the greater gifts... As Moses said "I wish all of God's people were prophets" (Numbers 11:29). If all of God's people were indeed prophets they would then be more holy in their lives and more strictly listen to the Voice of God and obey God in their lives and be more of a blessing. However not every Christian today will be willing to love and OBEY the high level of obedience that being a prophet requires...

Tongues are important for personal spiritual edification. 1Cor 14:5 Apostle Paul said it was God's DESIRE that you "ALL spoke in tongues…" Prophesying during the church service is more important, however in personal prayer unknown tongues (1Cor 14:2 "no one understands the prayer language on earth) are a critically important CHARISMA gift for the spiritual development available to all Christians, if each one was willing to obey God in their prayers. Apostle Paul would pray both in the spirit and also with his mind and understanding (1Cor 14:15). Please note "understanding" is contrasted with "in the spirit," meaning speaking unknown tongues in the Holy Spirit.

If Christians were perfect as the Scriptures have written, the USA would be a Christian nation today, instead of losing the souls of most of the children to the state religions including Secular Humanism and the "new religion of Civil Government" as Thomas Jefferson defined it where the U.S. Government is worshipped above Jesus and all other religions.
Until we see Jesus face to face in our coming immortal bodies the Charisma gift of speaking in tongues is of life and death importance. Learning to yield to the Holy Spirit with our body's members starting with our tongue/prayer language is a vitally important gift from God and Jesus.

These Charisma gifts of the Holy Spirit of Apostles, Prophets and tongues are critical to the "equipping of the saints" in God's love for spiritual warfare and for the perfection of eternity in the life to come. The church needs to be reasonable and listen to what the Spirit has to say!

John MacArthur apparently relies upon "PROVIDENCE" and does not listen to the Voice of Jesus as Moses spoke "face to face" to God. Exodus 33:11a "Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend." "Jesus is the same forever" and will speak to you as "a man speaks to his friend."
Holy Spirit Gifts Cessationist John MacArthur called the Charismatic movement a "long war on truth." However the Scripture reveals the Holy Spirit's Charisma Truth including the gift manifestation of "signs and wonders" will continue until the "Last Trumpet" (1Co 15:52) when we be all changed and then will see the "perfect" "face to face" instead seeing Jesus through a "glass darkly" (1Cor 13:12).
1Cor 13:10 "but when the perfect comes, the Partial will be done away." According to the blasphemer Pastor John MacArthur who calls the Holy Spirit Charismatic gifts of the devil, the closing of Scriptural Canon is the "PERFECT" and the partial canon, the O.T. and N.T. books written before the Apocalypse would be DONE AWAY WITH (e.g. any lies will do when one does not the truth)! (1Cor 13:12 defines the "PERFECT" as JESUS in eternity whom we will then see PERFECTLY and not through a dull "Mirror Dimly" or "Glass Darkly" as we spiritually see Him today.)
Cessationists mock Charismatic Continuationists as Holy Spirit gifts are so commonplace among those who are willing to "seek the greater gifts" (1Cor 12:31). God ordained Offices of Apostle such as Apostle Barnabas (Acts 14:14), are few in number compared to those who have the apostolic gifts. God ordained Offices of Prophets are few compared to those who have the prophet's gift. Though many have charisma gifts, they do not all attain to a God ordained office over the church. Such twisted scriptural logic and severe violation of hermeneutical principals are a typical failure of cessationists theologians and a major cause of WHY the USA is being given over to its enemies in the U.N. The cessationists rely heavily upon twisting 2Ti 1:6 where "gift" is the Holy Spirit Charisma which demolishes their cessationist claims. The Word of God grew daily showing the charisma growth of the Holy Spirit in the Body of Christ. "The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God" (Eph 6:17) is far more than 66 books of the Holy Bible. It is "the SWORD of the SPIRIT."
John MacArthur condemns those who have visions and extra biblical revelation. However in Acts 2 God confirms visions and dreams from God will continue to be part of the New Testament.
In John 1 The Word of God is Jesus Christ our example, and not merely 66 books of the Holy Bible. Jesus had continuous visions of seeing what His Father was doing before He said or did anything at all (John 8:28;12:49). Jesus actually listened to what God His Father said and so today's Christians are required to do the same. Jesus said, "My Sheep hear My Voice" (Jn 10:47). Today's cessationists sin and "quench the Holy Spirit" (1Th 5:19 "Do not quench the Spirit"), and forbid disciples to listen to the Holy Spirit's revelatory spiritual Voice of God their Father and forbid believing in God's revelatory visions and dreams are to be acted upon faithfully, which results in the sin of unbelief, causing many to stumble and lose faith and hope in God.
Christians are suppose to be in Heavenly Places with Christ (Eph 2:6). Christians are suppose to be in the presence of Jesus in Heaven (Rev 3:12), listening to His Voice in this life (John 10:27) and doing His Will of Our Heavenly Father in this life and not just in eternity (Mtt 6:10; Luke 22:42)…
Luke 8:11 "The seed is the Word of God." Christ's seed (gk sperma) must remain in Christians to inherit eternal life (1John 3:9). As most people know Jesus Christ's Holy Spirit's spiritual sperm and 66 books of the Bible are two different things. In Mtt 7:21-23 John MacArthur is spiritually blinded and does not "rightly divide the Word" when it comes to having a relationship with the "substance" of our Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit Charisma in the "sign gifts." MacArthur fails to discern it is the practice of the sin of lawlessness and not the miracles of the Holy Spirit that are the reason for banishment. Just as angels learn to behave spiritually, so disciples must learn to behave spiritually in concert with the Holy Spirit so His Charisma sign gifts will manifest themselves as the Father wishes.
Obeying God's Law and not the sin lawlessness of disobeying God's Law is the context and substance of Mtt 7:20-23. The righteous acts of obeying the Holy Spirit Charisma and casting out demons is not condemned as sin, but it is the lawless hearts that are condemned as sin (Mtt 7:23).
WWJD? Jesus would legalize His Name of Jesus (Col 3:17 "Do All in the Name of Jesus") and command Christians to die as martyrs to speak, teach and pray in the Name of Jesus as the early disciples believed was God's Command (Acts 4:10-20).
